(And you probably already have one lying around so.) Get too fast and loose with the connections and now the simulator plugins are winning again. To do it correctly you’ll need a reamper, some guitar gear and an audio interface with more than two outputs. But you will very likely have better results using a passive DI box backwards. The reamp box manages the electrical qualities of the signal to ensure it will sound right through an amp or stompbox. You could likely get away with connecting a combo balanced/unbalanced 1/4" output directly to an amp input. You don't need to have both of your stereo monitors connected during the reamp pass. You can "borrow" one of the outputs you normally use for monitoring for the reamp work. So my question is which Audio interface would allow me to do it this way and what cables will i need for this process ? I have looked at different boxes from Radial, but I cant figure out what I need. That is exactly what i need! There is no Di boxes were involved so simple! Now i am using Focusrite Solo audio interface and it does not have the output lines. What tools and what about levels Hi there. And correctly recorded guitar pedals sound great in comparison to VSTs imo.Hello guys! I saw a guy on Youtube showing how he takes his tracks out of DAW via the output on his Audio interface ( I could not see with audio interface he was using ) then send it to a guitar pedal Color Box processes it and then plug the output of the pedal back to the front input of his Audio interface. Sometimes I don't use the efx track at all, but it's there when needed. I basically don't use any VST efx anymore, except some eq, compression and verb, because I always record wet tracks with whichever pedal effect I imagine I want to use in the mix. In any case, reamping before guitar pedals makes them sound great and work just as expected, highly recommended - and by splitting the signal you get both the clean and the wet signal on two seperate tracks, which is a real blessing in the mix imo. Pretty complex for such a seemingly small operation. I do theoretically have such an output, but the ones on my converter are currently not working so I'm currently using a rather complex setup that involves the 'Through output' on my passive DI to a seperate preamp with a DI and finally a third preamp after the pedals to bring them back up to line level. The simplest way would be to use a balanced auxillary output from your converter, if you have such an output, to send it to the reamper. Maybe someone has experience with such a device? Total price: This item: ART Dual RDB Reamping Direct Box (DUALRDB) 95.99. Dual 1/4-inch TRS and XLR balanced line level inputs. Stereo Audio/Video interface to low level inputs. One way to do it would be to use a balanced line splitter after the primary preamp, but I don't have such a splitter, and I don't know if you can get a good one that doesn't deteriorate the signal for a decent price. Variable Input pad for mic or instrument inputs. I'd hoped I could use it to prepare the synth signal for stompboxes, but it's really noisy (unuseable) when used unbalanced. Devine MIC100/10 XLR Microphone/Signal Cable, 10m. Although I mainly work on microphones these days. Buy your Radial REAMP JCR Passive Studio Reamp Box at Bax Music Free Returns 30-Day Trial Period. I can now say with confidence that I think it is. There's a reason I never really talked about the re-amp box on the Signal Art pages until now, and that's because the box was never really quite right, I guess. So, it's time to talk about re-amping a little bit. Without the reamp box there will be an impedance mismatch and loss of tone. Special thanks to Glenn Fricker from SpectreMediaGroup for sending us this shot. The goal of the reamp box is to make the amplifier react in exactly the same way a live guitar would, but with a pre-recorded audio source. I've got a passive Radial Reamp, and it's the same thing here. A reamp box converts a low impedance, balanced line level signal to high impedance, unbalanced instrument level signal.
